The present invention relates to a dishwashing, especially machine dishwashing, method wherein the articles to be washed are treated with an effective amount of a detergent composition comprising: A. a metallo catalyst selected from a) metallo porphin and water- soluble or water dispersable derivatives thereof; b) metallo porphying and water-soluble or water-dispersable derivatives thereof; c) metallo phthalocyanine and water-soluble or water-dispersable derivatives thereof; and B. an enzymatic system capable of generating hydrogen peroxide.
