MACHINE FOR APPLYING A FUSED CONFIGURATION OF POWDER ON A SHOE SUBSTRATE Abstract of the Disclosure A machine for applying a fused configuration of powder on a shoe substrate. The machine comprises a non-rigid flat belt for receiving a deposit of powder. The belt is displaced along a predetermined path from a deposition station whereat powder will be deposited on the belt to a heating station whereat the deposited powder will be fused together. A stencil is provided having a selectively configured cut-out. The belt portion beneath the cut-out is deformed to define with the stencil a selectively configured volume. The deformation of the belt is activated when the powder is to be deposited on the belt. The powder is deposited on the stencil to fill the selectively configured volume when the belt has been so deformed and thereafter the deformation and the belt is released after the selec- tively configured volume of powder has been deposited whereby the belt portion will reassume its original flat condition.
