ABSTRACT In cross-cutting multi-layer strip material the "stair-cut-effect" produced in known equipment is reduced. The strip material is fed through a series of strip-guiding elements between a pair of feed rolls which deliver it to the cutter. The strip-guiding elements are arranged to be pivotable as a unit about the axis of one of the feed rolls and can be adjusted to and secured in the optimum position for reducing the stair-cut-effect.
