Abstract In a machine for cutting off or planing off road surfaces, having a chassis with an independent drive motor, a steerable wheeled and/or tracked running mecha- nism and a cutting or planing device which is fixed in a vertically adjustable manner to the chassis, which cutting or planing device contains at least one planing or cutting tool, at least two planing or cutting tools which are arranged one behind the other in the direction of travel are available, of which at least one is designed in such a way that it can be displaced across the direc- tion of travel. In this way, road surfaces, even with a curved road run or in parking bays, can be cut off or planed off without difficulty.
