ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A machine for discharging granular material, more particularly seed and fertilizer, the machine comprising a storage tank and metering elements whence the material reaches the ground in adjustable amounts, a sensor for detecting the amount of material, or the number of grains of material, discharged by the metering elements being arranged in the vicinity of at least one metering element. In order to improve the detection of the amount of material, or the number of grains of material, by the sensor, an accelerating device, accelerating the metered grains of material towards the sensor, is arranged between the metering element and the sensor.
