ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A machine for spreading granular material pneumatic- ally, the said machine being in the form of a trailer and be- ing equipped with a central storage tank and with pipelines, some of which project considerably beyond the said storage tank at right angles to the direction of travel, to which material is metered from the said storage tank by metering devices driven by variable speed drives, the said storage tank being divided into two parts, at least in its lower area, by a roof shaped central part. In order to maintain the compact design of the machine, to keep the centre of gravity thereof close to the tractor, to obtain a storage tank of the largest possible capacity and, at the same time, achieve wide scatter paths, provision is made for a blower 7 to be located at least mainly under the roof shaped central part, and for the drive shaft 15 of the said blower to be located on the side of the blower facing the direction of travel, the drive elements 15 ... 24 being arranged mainly under the said roof shaped central part, while the metering elements 12, as seen in the direction of travel 8, extend approximately along the entire lower length of the said tank.
