ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention is a machine capable of opening plastic bags of garbage, whatever the size of the bag, and then automatically separating the contents thereof from the plastic sheeting itself. It consists of a conveyor belt system with a plurality of hooks implanted therein. The belt is rotated on at least two pulleys, one of which creates a gentle turn by being rather large in diameter and the other pulley being rather small in diameter so that the hooks are accelerated thereabout as the belt passes over it. The waste in plastic bags is placed on the conveyor belt and the plastic sheeting gets attached to the hooks. The waste is split from the split bags when the belt passes over the first pulley. The hooked bags resin attached to the belt until the force of the rapid acceleration about the smaller pulley dislodges them.
