The machine tool has a vertical support (10) with a guide (11), which allows a workpiece carrier (13) that retains a workpiece (15) to be displaced vertically along an X axis. Two headstocks (24, 30) can be displaced along respective horizontal guides (27, 28) in a Y direction. The guides (27, 28) form a frame, whose opening (23) is closed by a louvre, which comprises passages for the headstocks (24, 30). This creates a laterally closed working chamber with perpendicular walls, containing no obstacles for falling filings. As the filings do not need to be flushed away, a minimum lubrication can be carried out by means of spray refrigeration, thus reducing the charge of liquid adhering to the filings.

L'invention concerne une machine-outil qui comporte un support vertical (10) comprenant un élément de guidage (11) permettant de déplacer un porte-outil (13), dans lequel est fixé un outil (15), verticalement le long d'un axe X. Deux poupées fixes (24, 30) peuvent être déplacées dans la direction Y le long d'éléments de guidage horizontaux (27, 28). Ces éléments de guidage (27, 28) forment un cadre dont l'ouverture (23) est fermée par un volet comportant des ouvertures de passage pour les poupées fixes (24, 30). On obtient ainsi un espace de travail fermé latéralement qui présente des parois verticales et qui ne comporte aucun obstacle qui entraverait la chute de copeaux. Une évacuation des copeaux par arrosage n'étant pas nécessaire, un refroidissement par pulvérisation peut être effectué comme lubrification minimale, ce qui permet de réduire la charge de fluide des copeaux.
