This invention provides a feedstock for improving the lactational perfomance of dairy cows. An essential feature of an invention feedstock is a dietary cation-anion difference (DCAD) with a value between about 25-60 meq/100g dietary DM. Other essential features of a preferred feedstock are an antomic ratio of potassium:sodium between about 1-5:1, a weight ratio of potassium:magnesium between about 3-5:1, and DCAD sodium-containing and potassium-containing macrominerals are selected from bicarbonate, carbonate and sesquicarbonate type compounds.
L'invention concerne une matière alimentaire pour bestiaux améliorant la lactation des vaches laitières, dont la caractéristique essentielle est une différence de bilan alimentaire cation-anion ayant une valeur comprise entre environ 25 et 60 milliéquivalents pour 100 grammes de ration de matière sèche. Les autres caractéristiques principales sont de préférence les suivantes: rapport atomique potassium:sodium compris entre environ 1:1 et 5:1, rapport de poids potassium:magnésium compris entre environ 3:1 et 5:1, et sélection des macrominéraux à base de sodium et potassium à différence de bilan alimentaire cation-anion dans le groupe des composés du type bicarbonate, carbonate et sesquicarbonate.
