A macroporous cryogel is disclosed which has grafted thereon polymer chains formed by polymerizing at least one monomer of the general formula (I) CR1R2=CR3R4 (I) wherein R1 and R2 are equal or different and each represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent group which is not detrimen-tal to the polymerization reaction; and R3 and R4 each represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent group which is not detrimental to the polymerization reac-tion, provided that R3 and R4 are not both a hydrogen atom, on said macroporous cryogel. A method for the preparation of said macroporous cryogel by graft (co)polymerization and the use of said macroporous cryogel in a separation process are also disclosed.

La présente invention se rapporte à un cryogel macropore sur lequel sont greffées des chaînes polymères formées par la polymérisation d'au moins un monomère représenté par la formule générale (I) : CR1R2=CR3R4. Dans ladite formule, R1 et R2 sont identiques ou différents et représentent chacun un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupe substituant qui n'entrave pas la réaction de polymérisation ; et R3 et R4 représentent chacun un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupe substituant qui n'entrave pas la réaction de polymérisation, étant entendu que R3 et R4 ne représentent pas tous les deux un atome d'hydrogène, sur ledit cryogel macropore. L'invention a également trait à un procédé de préparation dudit cryogel macropore par (co)polymérisation avec greffage, et à l'utilisation dudit cryogel macropore dans un processus de séparation.
