ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved leveling device is provided and consists of an elongated rectangular body having two parallel sides. Three bubble vials are disposed in a spaced apart relationship within the body in which the first one is a plumb vial, the second one is a horizontal vial and the third one is a forty five degree vial. A magnetic strip is affixed to one side of the body which will keep the body in place and steady for an accurate read out when working on a magnetic metal surface. A scale ruler is on the opposite side of the body so that the body can be used to measure distances. A mechanism is also provided for illuminating all of the bubble vials so that the vials can be seen in low lighting conditions. In one embodiment the light source for lighting the level bubble vials can alternately removed and double as a flashlight. -9-
