ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A magnetic member in which the magnetic portion thereof is magnetized to saturation impressing a plural- ity of magnetic poles thereon. At least one non-magnetic portion is integral with the magnetic portion so that the volume of magnetic material within the magnetic member varies producing a magnetic field having a pre- selected intensity profile.
