03 LO 5928 MAGNET WIRE AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of forming a wound coil electromotive device includes forming magnet wire having resistance to blistering when exposed to a halogenated refrigerant such as refrigerant R-22 under saturation conditions at a temperature in the range up to about 210°C., by applying on the wire substrate a cured coating of a polyetheramideimide polymer produced as the reaction product of 2,2-bis[4-(3,4-dicarboxyphenoxy)phenyl] dianhydride and a diamine, and a cured coating of a butanetetracarboxyl polyimide polymer produced as the reaction product of 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic dianhydride, optionally with an aromatic or cyclic dianhydride, and a diamine. The dual coated magnet wire is formed into a wound coil adapted for operation in an hermetic atmosphere including a halogenated refrigerant at a temperature up to about 210°C. The wound coil is utilized in an electromotive device to produce a product suitable for hermetic atmospheres at relatively high operating temperatures.
