The invention provides a safety system to be used on barbeque appliances that use electronic ignition, push button ignition or/and rotary ignition systems(s), that prevents the operator of the appliance from igniting the appliance when the lid and/or cover is in the closed position. When the lid and/or cover is in the closed position, a magnetic field is created through "magnetic medium(s)", in which a safety pin is drawn into the activated/safety on position within the electronic ignition, push button ignition or/and rotary ignition system(s), which prevents the operator of the appliance from successfully depressing and/or rotating the ignition system. When the lid and/or cover is in the open position, this breaks the magnetic field through the "magnetic medium(s)", and the safety pin is released by the absence of the magnetic field, and the operator of the appliance can successfully depress and/or rotate the ignition system.
