ABSTRACT A magnetic bearing cell (1) of rotationally symmetrical construction, which includes a rotor (2) with two permanent ring magnets (5, 6) and a stator (3) with a damping disk (27) that projects into the gap (26) between the permanent ring magnets (5, 6) of the rotor (2); in order to improve the radial rigidity of this cell, it is proposed that an additional permanent ring magnet (7) be secured to the shaft (4), this forming a gap (31) with the adjacent permanent ring magnet; and in that a ring disk (32) that is secured to the stator (3) projects into this gap (31), the ring disk (32) carrying an axially magnetized stator permanent ring magnet (33) in the vicinity of the rotating permanent ring magnets (6, 7) of the rotor (2).
