ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A magnetic closure for artificial intestinal outlets comprising a ring magnet implanted around the intestinal outlet; a stopper, therefore is formed from another cylind- rical bar magnet removably inserted in a sheath of chemically softened open-cell polyvinyl acetal foam. The sheath is preferably waterproofed on its inner surface by means of a silicone compound. The sheath is approximately a circular cylinder; however, its ends may be thickened to give it an "hour glass" shape. A withdrawal string is provided for removal of the stopper,
