A magnetic coupler for use in semi-trailer rigs includes a contact member and a receiving member, the contact member having at least one biased contact which seats in a seat formed in the receiving member, the seat having an electrical conductor disposed therewithin. A member has a peripheral ring of opposite magnetic polarities in order to ensure magnetic attraction therebetween. Cooperating projection and keyway may be formed on the peripheral rings to assure proper alignment between the contact member and the receiving member.
Dispositif d'attelage magnétique pour semi-remorque comportant un organe d'attelage et un organe récepteur, l'organe d'attelage présentant au moins une surface à action ressort destinée à prendre appui sur un siège formé à la surface de l'organe récepteur. Un conducteur électrique est logé à l'intérieur de l'organe récepteur. La région périphérique de l'autre organe de couplage comporte une zone annulaire composée d'un matériau de polarité opposée pour créer une attraction magnétique entre les deux organes de couplage. Les régions annulaires des organes d'attelage peuvent comporter des éléments d'assemblage de type à rainure et clavette pour assurer un alignement approprié des organes du dispositif d'attelage.
