JA9-89-018 A MAGNETIC DISK APPARATUS ABSTRACT The disclosure deals with magnetic disk apparatus and the reduction of crosstalk and output signal attenuation by the expedient of shifting the positions of the top and bottom magnetic heads. Crosstalk noise is caused by the electromagnetic coupling of the top and bottom heads across a disk. Depending upon signal attenuation and crosstalk ratios, the respective heads are shifted, resulting in a sharp reduction in both attenuation and crosstalk.
