An apparatus for removing metallic particles (53) from lubricating oil used in engines, comprised of a magnetic member (34) positioned around a typical engine oil filter (10), a flux amplifier band (36) positioned around the magnetic member (34) and an optional mechanism (38) for adjustably securing the magnetic member (34) and the flux amplifier band (36) to the oil filter (10). Alternatively, the magnetic member (34) can be mounted on the inside surface of the canister (14) so that the canister (14) itself acts as the flux amplifier (36). The magnetic member (34) is magnetized so that it has alternating regions of polarity (50, 51) on inside and outside surfaces thereof. The flux amplifier band (36) extends over substantially the entire outer surface of the magnetic member (34) and it increases the intensity of the magnetic field inside the oil filter (10) generated by the flexible magnetic member (34).
Un dispositif servant à supprimer des particules métalliques (53) d'huile lubrifiante utilisée dans des moteurs est composé d'un élément magnétique (34) placé autour d'un filtre à huile de moteur classique (10), d'une bande d'amplification de flux (36) placée autour de l'élément magnétique (34) et d'un mécanisme éventuel (38) servant à fixer de façon réglable l'élément magnétique (34) et la bande d'amplification de flux (36) au filtre à huile (10).
