ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A magnetic head is disclosed which comprises a main core made of sendust material or amorphous alloy and a pair of reinforcing cores for holding the main core in position so that the main core is sandwiched between the pair of reinforcing cores. The main core comprises a pair of core halves which are adhered to each other by glass material containing phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) and barium oxide (BaO) as main constituents. P2O5 preferably amounts to about 40% by weight of the whole glass material and BaO preferably amounts to about 50% by weight of the whole glass material. This glass material affords a satisfactory bond between the core halves, without appreciable diffusion into the core halves. As a result, the leakage flux curve is abrupt and performance is enhanced from the viewpoint of high density recording.
