ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is an amplifier circuit for a magnetic transducer such as a magnetic head. The amplifier includes a pair of transistors which function both as write current modulators and read signal preamplifiers. The transistors are suitable for in situ deposition on a magnetic transducer carrier adjacent the winding, which keeps the signal lines of the data read by the transducer very short until amplification.
