The reference system comprises a transmitter for mounting on the turret of such a vehicle to provide vehicle heading signals for an indicator system to be mounted in such a vehicle, and correction means to respond to turret rotation for correcting the heading of such a vehicle during use, the indicator system including a visual display for the display of the magnetic heading of such a vehicle.
