An article comprising a multilayered structure (100) comprising a series of magnetic layers (110) is provided. The magnetic layers (110) comprise a magnetic material, and an insulating layer (120) is disposed between successive magnetic layers (110). Each magnetic layer (110) has a thickness of at least about 2 micrometers and magnetic material has an average grain size not more than 200 nm. Also provided is a method for making the article.
