ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An "all purpose" transducer for providing a large change in an electrical output that varies as a function of a mechanical displacement input which may be small. The transducer has spaced poles of opposite polarity, an armature which is movable toward and away from the poles to change the flux transmission of the armature, a flux responsive element whose impedance varies with flux intensity passed therethrough, the armature's range of movement being between limits of one of which the flux transmission by the element is at a maximum, the flux passed by said element being caused to drop to near zero when the armature is at the other limit.
