Magnetic Recording and Reproducing Device Abstract of the Disclosure In a magnetic recording and reproducing device for recording a video signal intermittently by a rotary magnetic head and recording an audio signal continuously on a magnetic tape, at a tape moving speed where playback of the sound signal can be processed in a practical way, the tape is moved by a conventional brushless DC motor, and at a tape moving speed lower than such a tape moving speed the motor is driven by additional pulses, and so the tape can be moved with less wow and flutter and with lower power.
