MAGNETIC RECORDING SYSTEM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A magnetic recording-system comprising a rotary magnetic head drum assembly including a plurality of rotary magnetic heads, a magnetic tape drive means for moving a magnetic tape passed round said rotary magnetic head drum assembly in a predeter- mined direction at a predetermined speed, and a means for controlling the rotational speed of the rotary magnetic heads in recording by utilizing the sync signals in the video signals reproduced from the rotary magnetic heads and a reference signal. Video signal to be recorded is recorded by one of the rotary magnetic heads on the magnetic tape driven at a constant speed one field after another in the lengthwise direction of the tape. Also, the corresponding audio signal is recorded in a track parallel to the video signal record track.
