- 1 - Abstract: A cartridge for a magnetic recording tape comprises a front wall, a tape running along the outside of this front wall and a flange member projecting perpendicular to the face of the front wall from the bottom portion of the front wall. There is a gap between the lower edge of the tape and a tape supporting member projecting upwardly from the top face of the flange member to support the lower edge of the tape. As a result the tape can be maintained stretched when not in use and less subject to risk of damage.
