ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE. To permit accurate positioning of a magnetically responsive reed switch on a structural element, without accurate alignment of attachment holes on the structural element, a tubular housing (1) of plastic material has a socket (5) telescoped therein, the socket holding the reed switch, and providing electrical terminal connections therefor. The socket is releasably and replaceable retained in the housing (1) by springy externally biassed arms (7) having projections snapping into suitable recesses or openings in the housing. The housing is selectively inserted in a holder (14),which is a unitary plastic injection element having two projecting clamping jaws (20), between which the tubular, in cross section cylindrical, housing can be snapped. The housing is formed with an outer ring rib (12) fitting into grooves (19) formed in the holder for positive axial positioning of the housing in the holder; the housing, additionally, is formed with a projection (13) for rotary positioning and alignment of the housing in the holder.
