A method of determining the amount of intracellular manganese in the myocardium of an individual pre-administered with a manganese contrast agent, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, comprising subjecting said individual to a MRI procedure to assess the signal intensity (SI) of images, or more preferably the longitudinal relaxation rate, R 1 throughout said myocardium.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de déterminer la quantité de manganèse intracellulaire dans le myocarde d'un individu à qui on a pré-administré un agent de contraste au manganèse ou un sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable de celui-ci, le procédé consistant à faire subir à l'individu une procédure IRM pour évaluer l'intensité de signal (SI) des images, ou de préférence la vitesse de relaxation longitudinale R 1 à travers le myocarde.
