PHN.9121 8-6-1978 ABSTRACT: A magnetic tape cassette, comprising reels accommodated in a cassette housing between two parallel main walls and rotatable about parallel axes, is adapted to co-operate, in a first position and in a reversed second position, with a cassette appa- ratus and is provided with cover means which are connected to the cassette housing and are pivotable about a pivoting axis which is parallel to the two main walls of the cassette for at least partly cover- ing the front of the cassette. The cover means com- prise a single cassette cover which covers the entire front of the cassette housing and comprises pivoting arms on both sides which arems are journalled on the side walls of the cassette housing in such a way that the cover can be opened from its closed position into two different open positions, namely by pivoting the cassette cover in a first pivoting direction to- wards the one main wall and in an opposite second pivoting direction towards the second main wall. -70-
