- 1 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A magnetic transport system includes a ferromagnetic belt which is used in conjunction with a magnetic ski to transport substrates. The belt and ski cooperate to form a path of travel for the substrate. Magnetic attraction between the belt and ski provides the normal force necessary for the high friction surfaced belt to drive the substrate along the path of travel.
