MAGNETICALLY ATTACHABLE PREHEATER FOR AUTOMOBILE ENGINES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A magnetically attachable preheater for automobile engines includes a rectilinear shell having an open side, and an electric heating unit and magnetic means situated inside the shell. A heat transfer plate of non-magnetic material closes the open side of the shell. The electrical heating unit is encased within the heat transfer plate and surrounds the magnetic means. The magnetic means includes two magnetic end portions which are situated to be operative in the same plane as an outer plane surface of the heat transfer plate through parallel, spaced-apart openings provided in the plate. Electrical controls are provided inside of the shell to maintain the heat transfer plate within predetermined temperature limits.
