A tufting machine has drives for shifting needle bars, pushing needle bars, rocking loopers, knives, and hooks. The drives require less maintenance, result in less wear, are highly accurate, can operate at high speeds and at high loads, and are easily programmable. The drives avoid the need for oil bathes for the moving parts and therefore reduce spillage onto tufted products. The drives are quiet and thus are preferably over many hydraulic drives. The drives are preferably linear drives and, more preferably, are electromagnetic drives.

L'invention concerne une machine de touffetage comportant des entraînements servant à faire coulisser des barres à aiguille, à la poussée de barres à aiguille, de remailleur oscillant, de couteaux et de crochets. Ces entraînements demandent moins d'entretien, s'usent moins, sont plus précis, peuvent fonctionner à des vitesses élevées et à des charges élevées, et sont facilement programmables. Ils ne nécessitent pas de bains d'huile pour les pièces en déplacement et permettent donc de réduire les écoulements sur les produits touffetés. Ces entraînements sont silencieux et sont donc préférés aux entraînements hydrauliques. Ils sont de préférence linéaires et, mieux encore, électromagnétiques.
