The invention relates to a device useful for controlling the horizontal or vertical or plurality thereof axial movements of an image capturing device by utilizing a Magneto- Rheological (MR) fluid damp-ing system to accurately control motion forces and positioning of said device. The device comprises of a Magneto-Rheological (MR) fluid damping mechanism or plurality thereof attached to a rotating shaft or plurality thereof for each axis of rotation received by bearings mounted within a housing.
