A material used to form a biasing element (16) for a magnetomechanical EAS marker (10) has a coercivity that is lower than the coercivity of biasing elements used in conventional magnetomechanical markers. The marker (10) formed with the low coercivity material can be deactivated by applying an AC magnetic field at a level that is lower than is required for deactivation of conventional markers (curve 26). The marker (10) with the low coercivity bias element (16) can also be deactivated when at a greater distance from a deactivation device than was previously practical.

On décrit un matériau que l'on utilise pour former un élément de polarisation (16), destiné à un marqueur (10) d'un système de surveillance d'articles électroniques et possédant une coercitivité inférieure à celle d'éléments de polarisation utilisés dans des marqueurs classiques magnétomécaniques. Ce marqueur (10), formé à l'aide de ce matériau à faible coercitivité, peut être désactivé par application d'un champ magnétique à courant alternatif dont le niveau est inférieur à celui requis pour la désactivation de marqueurs classiques (courbe 26). De même, ce marqueur (10) présentant cet élément de polarisation (16) à faible coercitivité peut être désactivé lorsqu'il se trouve à une distance plus grande d'un dispositif de désactivation que celle prévue jusqu'alors sur un plan pratique.
