A magnetron includes a decoupling plate located between the end hat of the magnetron cathode and an output coupling member. The use of the decoupling plate presents a high impedance and gives a resonant circuit which is arranged to be resonant at the operating frequency of the magnetron. This prevents or reduces power loss due to capacitive coupling. In another arrangement, the decoupling plate is mounted be a post on the end hat of the magnetron cathode.

Un magnétron comprend une plaque de découplage (16) disposée entre un capuchon d'extrémité (15) de la cathode (21) du magnétron et un élément de couplage de sortie (11). L'utilisation de la plaque de découplage (16) présente une impédance élevée et permet de créer un circuit résonant dont la résonance est réglée sur la fréquence de fonctionnement du magnétron. Cela empêche ou du moins réduit la perte de puissance due au couplage capacitif. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, la plaque de découplage (20) est montée de manière à former une tige (21) sur le capuchon d'extrémité (15) de la cathode (1) du magnétron.
