A generally rectangular cloth sheet is provided to envelope a regulation mailbox. A cut is provided in the cloth to permit the indicating flag to pass through the side portion of the cover and a cutout is made in the bottom portion of the cover to permit it to go around the post. Securing devices such as snaps are provided to secure the cover to the mailbox. The side portions may include indicia indicating the name and address of the mail- box owner as well as decorative designs of a pleasing nature. The indicia and designs are stitched onto the side portions. Additional depending side flaps may be provided integral with the two side portions allowing more space to receive further designs and indicia.
