MAIL BOX WITH ROLLED LID ABSTRACT A sheet metal box has a composite structure, with a hinged top lid. The box requires a decorative or polished finish to the box lid and frontal portions, and is provided with a hinge structure comprising a fixed inner hollow post about which a hollow outer portion pivots. The hollow outer portion com- prises part of the top lid, incorporating the required finish, which lid totally conceals the inner hinge post, thereby per- mitting the adoption of lower cost materials for the concealed portions of the box. The arrangement avoids damaging of the lid protective finish, and provides protection from the ele- ments for the components of the hinge.
