A maintenance free pressurized hydraulic reservoir, comprising the reservoir housing, a gas chamber and a fluid chamber, which are separated each from other by a membrane. The membrane is located within the reservoir housing, and Is installed with the extremity sealed directly on the reservoir housing. A pressure transducer located within the gas chamber, is provided to monitor the evolution of nitrogen pressure due to the fluid volume change and temperature variation. The pressure transducer will also indicate the reservoir instantaneous volume as a result of fluid pressure variation. A temperature transducer located within the fluid chamber, is provided to monitor the evolution of fluid temperature during hydraulic system operation. A miniaturized cartridge check valve is threaded within the reservoir housing to allow charging of the gas chamber with nitrogen.
