A one-piece cast metal heat-exchanging forming tool (10) is prepared using an expendable porous preform (34) that is cast in place within a cast metal forming tool. The expendable preform is thereafter extracted to leave behind a network of inter-connected pores and passages (32) within the body of the tool through which a heat transferring fluid may be circulated to transfer heat to or from a subtantially non-porous contoured shaping surface of the tool. Fluid distribution/collection lines and vacuum lines (26, 28) may be incorporated in the tool during casting.
L'invention concerne un outil de formage (10) à échange thermique pour métal coulé monobloc, préparé à l'aide d'une préforme (34) poreuse dilatable, laquelle est coulée en place dans un outil de formage de métal coulé. La préforme dilatable est ensuite retirée, laissant derrière elle, dans le corps de l'outil, un réseau de pores et de passages (32) interconnectés, dans lesquels on peut faire passer un fluide de transfert thermique pour transférer de la chaleur vers une surface de formage profilée sensiblement non poreuse de l'outil, ou inversement. On peut ajouter à l'outil, lors du moulage, des conduits de distribution/collecte et des conduits à dépression (26, 28).
