ABSTRACT The present invention provides maleated aminophenoxysiloxane derivatives which contain both siloxane and maleimide or maleamic acid moieties. The compounds have the formula: (I), Image wherein R is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms and phenyl; R' is Image , Image , or Image and n = 1 to 6. Where n=l it is understood that the compound is a 'silane' rather than a siloxane. Maleated aminophenoxysiloxanes are prepared by reacting diaminodiphenoxysiloxanes with maleic anhydride. In addition, the resultant maleamic acid derivatives may be cyclized yielding isomaleimide or maleimide siloxane derivatives. The products are useful as cross linking agents in adhesive applications.
