Maleic or phthalic acid half esters of alkoxyalted fatty amines Abstract of the Disclosure Acid half esters of the formula (1) Image or quaternary ammonium compounds thereof, wherein R is an aliphatic radical of 12 to 24 carbon atoms, one of Y1 and Y2 in hydrogen and the other is phenyl, one of X1 and X2 is hydrogen and the other is methyl, one of Z1 and Z2 is hydrogen and the other 19 the maleic acid radical or the phthalic acid radical, m1 and m2 are 0 or 1, s1, s2, p1 and p2 are integers, with the sum of s1 + s2 being 25 to 50 and the sum of p1 + p2 is 4 to 15. These compounds are suitable for a wide range of utilities in textile application. In particular, they are used as assistants for dyeing wool-containing fibre materials with anionic dyes or mixtures of dyes.
