Abstract of the Disclosure The compounds represented by the structural formula Image wherein n is an integer of from 1 to 4, A, B and C each independently represent hydrogen, a lower alkyl having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms or a lower alkenyl having from 3 to 5 carbon atoms, provided that the sum of the carbon atoms in A, B and C is no more than 7, R1 and R2 each independently represent hydrogen or a lower alkyl having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms or R1 and R2 taken together represent ?CH2?m wherein m is an integer of from 2 to 6, have been found to be particularly useful in compositions and methods for counteracting malodors. Novel compounds are also disclosed.
