Maltitol crystals containing crystals of a saccaride except maltitol, wherein particles having a particle size of 20 to 50 meshes obtained by pulverization and classification thereof have a loose apparent specific gravity greater than 0.750 g/cc and not greater than 0.850 g/cc. The above maltitol crystals have good solubility and little hydroscopicity, is small in the difference between a tamped apparent specific gravity and a loose apparent specific gravity, and exhibit good fluidity. Further, having a relatively great apparent specific gravity, they are less susceptible to inconvenience due to great bulkiness when stored or transported.

L'invention concerne des cristaux de maltitol contenant des cristaux d'un saccharide autre que le maltitol. Dans ces cristaux, des particules présentant une taille comprise entre 20 et 50 mesh, obtenues par pulvérisation et classification, possèdent une gravité spécifique apparente à l'état dispersé comprise entre 0,75 g/cc et 0,85 g/cc. Lesdits cristaux de maltitol possèdent une bonne solubilité et une hydroscopicité réduite, ils présentent une faible différence entre la gravité spécifique apparente à l'état compact et la gravité spécifique apparente à l'état dispersé, ainsi qu'une bonne fluidité. De par leurs caractéristiques, ils posent moins de problèmes d'encombrement lors de leur stockage ou de leur transport.
