The invention relates to a management-capable splice cassette for telecommunications and data transfer, the cassette being adapted to receive carrier shells each capable of carrying two glass fibres, the cassette comprising a housing with cable connection means and a connected carrier. The carrier shells are connected to the carrier in a rotatable manner. The object of the invention is to develop a management-capable splice cassette that is exchangeable with other splice cassettes, that can in particular be inserted into prior-art splice casette housings in place of the conventional splice cassettes, and which ensures an available reserve length and a small constructional height as well as economical and simple handling. This object is achieved by having carrier shells that are disposed in at least two adjacent receiving portions of the splice cassette and stacked upon each other. Each of the carrier shells is rotatably supported in the cassette on one of their sides by a latch arrangement.
