Methods and systems for use in connection with an asymmetrical digital subscriber line (ADSL) system being available to provide voice service and data service to the customer's premises. One service of the voice service or the data service is in use at the customer's premises, and the exemplary methods and systems detect a request for provision of the other service. In response to the detection, impact information may be provided on performance of the one service in light of concurrent use of the other service. A list of modes of operation of the other service is provided. The subscriber may consider the impact information and the list of modes and respond with a selected mode of operation of the other service. The selected mode is detected and the other service is operated pursuant to the selected mode to the customer's premises.
L'invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes destinés à être mis en oeuvre en association avec une ligne numérique à paire asymétrique (LNPA) permettant de fournir des services téléphoniques et des services de transmission de données à une installation d'abonné. Lorsque le services téléphonique ou le service de transmission de données est en utilisation à l'installation d'abonné, ces procédés et systèmes peuvent par exemple détecter une demande relative à la prestation de l'autre service. En réponse à cette détection une information d'incidence concernant la qualité de ce service compte tenu de l'utilisation simultanée de l'autre service peut être fournie. Une liste des modes de fonctionnement de cet autre service est fournie. L'abonné peut examiner cette information d'incidence et la liste de ces modes et répondre par la sélection d'un mode de fonctionnement de cet autre service. Le mode sélectionné est détecté et l'autre service est activé conformément au mode sélectionné dans l'installation d'abonné.
