Data interconnections are managed in a mobile communications network having multiple packet control function entities (PCFs) and multiple packet data serving nodes (PDSNs), wherein each PCF and PDSN communicates signaling messages according to a mobile signaling protocol. Information for a Mobile Subscriber (MS) is received. The MS is associated with a same one of the PDSNs when the MS moves from a first area covered by a first PCF to a second area covered by a second PCF. It is determined that a first PCF has issued a first connection request on behalf of an MS. As a result of the first connection request, a selection protocol is executed a first time to select a PDSN that corresponds to the MS. It is determined that a second PCF has issued a second connection request on behalf of the MS. The selection protocol is executed a second time to select the same PDSN that was selected as a result of the first connection request.
Selon cette invention, des interconnexions de données sont manipulées dans un réseau de communications mobiles comportant de multiples entités de fonction de commande de paquets (PCF) ainsi que de multiples noeuds de service de données en paquets (PDSN), chacun des PCF et des PDSN communiquant des messages de signalisation conformément à un protocole de signalisation mobile. Des informations relatives à un abonné mobile (MS) sont reçues. Cet abonné mobile est associé à un même abonné des PDSN lorsque l'abonné mobile se déplace d'une première zone couverte par une première entité PCF vers une seconde zone couverte par une seconde entité PCF. Une première entité PCF émet une première demande de connexion pour un abonné mobile. Suite à cette première demande de connexion, un protocole de sélection est exécuté une première fois pour sélectionner un PDSN qui correspond à l'abonné mobile. Une seconde entité PCF émet une seconde demande de connexion pour l'abonné mobile. Le protocole de sélection est exécuté une seconde fois pour sélectionner le même PDSN que celui sélectionné à la suite de la première demande de connexion.
