The present invention relates to genetic constructs capable of manipulating fructan biosynthesis in photosynthetic cells of a plant, said genetic constructs including a promoter, or functionally active fragment or variant thereof, operatively linked to a nucleic acid encoding a bacterial FT enzyme, or a functionally active fragment or variant thereof. The present invention also relates to the modification of fructan biosynthesis in plants and, more particularly, to methods of manipulating fructan biosynthesis in photosynthetic cells. The present invention also relates to increasing plant biomass and, more particularly, to methods of enhancing biomass yield and/or yield stability, including shoot and/or root growth in a plant. The present invention also relates to methods of enhancing the productivity of biochemical pathways.
La présente invention concerne des produits de construction génétiques capables de manipuler la biosynthèse de fructane dans les cellules photosynthétiques d'une plante, lesdits produits de construction génétiques comprenant un promoteur ou l'un de ses fragments ou variants fonctionnellement actifs, lié de manière fonctionnelle à un acide nucléique codant pour une enzyme FT bactérienne ou l'un de ses fragments ou variants fonctionnellement actifs. La présente invention concerne également la modification de la biosynthèse de fructane dans des plantes et, plus particulièrement, des méthodes de manipulation de la biosynthèse de fructane dans des cellules photosynthétiques. La présente invention concerne également l'augmentation de la biomasse végétale et, plus particulièrement, des méthodes d'amplification du rendement de la biomasse et/ou de la stabilité du rendement, y compris la croissance des pousses et/ou des racines dans une plante. La présente invention concerne également des méthodes d'amplification de la productivité des voies biochimiques.
