ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a manual tamping device for cigarette tubes, par- ticularly for cigarette filter tubes, comprising a casing hav- ing a tobacco-pressing chamber disposed in the longitudinal di- rection thereof, a cover-type press bar assigned to said pres- sing chamber and disposed in a cover covering the casing and being swingable about an axis, and an ejector slide carrying a spoon and intended for ejecting a pressed tobacco plug into a paper tube clampingly held on a socket at the outlet of the pres- sing chamber by means of a clamping device, the ejector slide comprises a frame-type handle embracing the cover, which contains the press bar and actuates the clamping device. The spoon is connected to said handle preferably on the underside of the cas- ing in order to attain simple interlocking of the cover with the casing while simultaneously clamping the tube at the socket.
