ABSTRACT A manually closable seal comprising means defining a seal body containing therein a channel; a strip having symmetrically formed opposed ends; each of the opposed ends being provided with an opening constituting a respective catch element to lockingly cooperate with a holder; a holder mounted in the channel to receive at each opposed end thereof, one end of the opposed ends of the strip element; the holder comprising a substantially U-shaped metallic element having symmetrically arranged oppositely situated leg members; the leg members forming opposed holder ends; resilient tongues provided at each of the leg members and extend- ing in an inclined manner away from the holder ends towards a central region of the holder so as to form a pair of inwardly inclined tongues at each end of the holder; each pair of tongues comprising two tongues extending from the oppositely situated leg members of the holder and crossing each other at the central region; and each of the pairs of resilient tongues constituting an irreversible locking element for one of the catch elements of the strip when an end of the strip is introduced into the holder.
